- APL invests both our own capital and that of our equity partners in Asian real estate transactions. In virtually all our investments, we invest in control positions.
- We actively source distressed asset acquisitions as well as re-development and value-added opportunities. Our broad sourcing network in Japan and China allow us to acquire most assets in off-market transactions.
- Our simple but vigorously pursued investment philosophy centers around three key tenets:
 
Buy Right: Thorough research and underwriting allow us to limit downside and deliver on the upside.
Manage Right: Our asset management team delivers value at the property level through proactive management.
Sell Right: Regular reviews to identify best disposition timing and best buyer to capture maximum value.
- Because of ever-increasing transaction sizes, we typically partner with institutional capital in our investments.
- APL’s transactions have ranged in size from smaller boutique deals up to a large trophy-asset transaction of RMB$4.7 billion.
