WILLIAM D. SCHOENFELD
President and Founder

Mr. Schoenfeld is the Chairman of the Board of APL. With more than 20 years of real estate investment experience in Asia and North America, Mr. Schoenfeld led APL to become one of the first foreign real estate investors in Japan after the bubble burst in 1997. Under Mr. Schoenfeld’s leadership, APL has grown to manage over US$4 billion in assets. APL is generally regarded as one of the most sophisticated and conservative real estate operating platforms in Asia. Prior to establishing APL, from 1990 to 1993 he was a Vice President at BA (Asia) Limited, which at that time was a subsidiary of Bank of America where he was primarily responsible for overseeing its Asian real estate operations. From 1989 to 1990, Mr. Schoenfeld was a Vice President in the investment services group of Jones Lang Wootton USA (which later merged with LaSalle Partners in 1999 and is now known as Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated). At Jones Lang Wootton USA, he was responsible for advising real estate investors on acquisitions, real estate financing and debt and equity structuring. From 1988 until 1989 he worked in Tokyo for HASEKO Corporation, a major Japanese property development and construction company. Mr. Schoenfeld graduated from Williams College in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. He is fluent in Japanese and Mandarin and conversant in Cantonese. Mr. Schoenfeld has also established numerous philanthropic efforts across mainland China primarily aimed at improving children’s education and the environment.

RICHARD J. REITKNECHT
Executive Vice President and Co-Founder

Mr. Reitknecht has spent the past 15 years overseeing the operations of the firm. Mr. Reitknecht established each office and oversaw the hiring and training of all employees. As the primary spokesperson for the firm, Mr. Reitknecht oversees investor relations as well as lender relationships. Mr. Reitknecht plays a significant role in sourcing investment opportunities and investment partners. Mr. Reitknecht also helps oversee investment underwriting and firm strategy. Prior to establishing APL, he served as a middle market loan officer at Chemical Bank in New York, with over five years' experience in commercial lending, working capital management and project finance. Prior to Chemical Bank, he worked as a research analyst for Balis Zorn Gerrard, a boutique research and investment house on Wall Street specializing in the Entertainment, Toy and Cable industries. Mr. Reitknecht holds a BA in Economics from Vassar College.

HELGE WEINER-TRAPNESS
Group Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Weiner-Trapness’ responsibilities include developing and implementing strategy for the APL Group, investment decision making and general management of the group companies. Prior to joining the Group, Mr. Weiner-Trapness was a Managing Director, Chairman and CEO of J.P. Morgan Securities (Asia Pacific) Limited from 2002 to 2008 where he headed multiple industry groups in the Investment Banking Division, including Real Estate, Financial Institutions, General Industries and Technology and Media and Telecom. He also served as a Chairman of Asia Commitment Committee, Business Engagement Committee and Independent Advisory Committee and a member of Hong Kong Monetary Authority's Deposit Taking Advisory Committee. Before that, Mr. Weiner-Trapness was a Managing Director of Goldman, Sachs & Co. in Hong Kong and New York.

Mr. Weiner-Trapness holds a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts from Williams College.

PHILIP A. MINTZ
Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Mintz joined APL in 2010 as its Chief Investment Officer. Prior to joining APL, Mr. Mintz was a Partner at Warburg Pincus based in Hong Kong where he ran the firm’s Asian real estate effort. At Warburg Pincus he successfully invested over US$850 million of equity in China, Japan and India. Prior to Warburg Pincus he was the Chief Executive Officer of General Electric Real Estate-Asia Pacific. Based in Tokyo, Philip led a 300 person real estate operating business with operations in Japan, China, India, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. Early in his career he was an attorney in the Mergers and Acquisitions department at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom. He holds a BA in Political Science from Duke University, an MBA from New York University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.

PATRICIA A. KENNEDY
Group Chief Financial Officer

Ms. Kennedy brings with her more than 25 years of experience as a senior leader with extensive experience in financial management, operations and organizational development with international exposure in Japan, Mexico and the U.S. Formerly, she was Director of Bancomer's Tourism Division in Mexico, CFO for two real estate firms in the U.S. and has served on Board of Directors for various U.S. and Mexican companies. She started her career at Deloitte & Touche after graduating with a BA from Southern Illinois University. She holds a CPA certification from the State of Illinois.

WILLIAM GRAHAM
Group Head of Asset Management, Managing Director

Mr. Graham has 24 years of experience in real estate development, asset management and property management in Asia Pacific. He has particular expertise in managing retail and commercial real estate.

Prior to joining APL, he was the Head of Real Estate for Allco (Singapore) Ltd. Prior to that he worked with CITTA Management Ltd. where he was responsible for the management of Taipei 101 Mall. At Tapei 101, Mr. Graham had full responsibility for retail leasing and planning, marketing, finance & administration, property management as well as customer service. Mr. Graham has also worked at Lend Lease Group, where he had responsibility for asset management, development and property management of all of Lend Lease's managed fund assets in Asia.

SPENCER G. PARK
Executive Director

Mr. Park joined the APL group in September 2008. His responsibilities include overseeing the legal function for the APL group and supporting the acquisitions and asset management teams with deal execution, tax and structuring. He serves as a director for APL Japan and APL Taiwan.

Prior to joining APL, Mr. Park served as Senior Vice President, Head of Transactions in the Real Estate Finance group at Capmark Japan KK where his role included deal management, execution and closing of the firm's senior and mezzanine loan originations and business development for its various lending businesses activities in Japan and other Asian markets. He has also served as in-house general counsel at Citigroup Principal Investments Japan Co., Ltd., and he was previously associated with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP where he practiced in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and real estate finance after completing a judicial clerkship with the U.S. District Court.

Mr. Park holds a J.D., cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, received a Fulbright Fellowship to study in Korea and graduated with an A.B., magna cum laude in Economics and East Asian Studies from Harvard University. He is a member of the State Bar of California.

YUICHI KATOH
Chairman

Prior to joining APL, Mr. Katoh was the former CEO of American Express Japan, Bankers Trust Japan, and Johnson Matthey. As American Express Japan’s first Japanese CEO, he handled the introduction of traveler’s cheques and credit cards as well as a world-wide network of merchant banking services. He serves on the boards of numerous corporations, educational institutions and charitable foundations. He received both his BA and MBA from Harvard University.

TOSHIYUKI HIRAYAMA
Managing Director,
Representative in Japan

Mr. Hirayama has 12 years of real estate development, management, leasing, brokerage and finance experience with Nomura Real Estate Development. At Nomura, he spearheaded the first retail development project structured with Western style finance in Japan. Mr. Hirayama holds both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Architecture from Kobe University and an MBA in Finance from Leicester University. He also holds a Japanese Real Estate Brokerage License (Takken Shunin).
